Youth athletic programs include Baseball League, Girls’ Softball League, Pop Warner Football, Police Athletic League and the Soccer Club. The Cranford Hockey Club offers ice skating and competitive ice hockey. Canoeing and fishing also are popular activities along the Rahway River.
Cranford is served by the Cranford school district, as well as several private and charter schools in the area. The Cranford High School is ranked as one of the top 75 high school in New Jersey and has won a series of national and statewide awards for its innovative curriculum.
