Cranford Township, New Jersey is surrounded by the towns Kenilworth, Westfield, Clark, Linden, Garwood, Springfield, Roselle and Roselle Park. Cranford, New Jersey is a fantastic town with a flourishing downtown shopping and restaurants, business centers, many beautiful parks and recreation and lastly, its top ranked schools in New Jersey. This is probably why Cranford was ranked the 37th best place to live in New Jersey in 2008 in the New Jersey Monthly.

Cranford has one high school which was ranked as one of the 30 best high schools in New Jersey, two middle schools, four elementary schools and several private schools. Cranford is also the home of Union County College main Campus which is also the oldest community college in New Jersey. Cranford offers beautiful parks for recreation; for example, Nomahegan, Lenape, and Unami. The Rahway River also runs throughout the town where many people go to fish and rent canoes. Cranford hosts many parades, festivals and fairs to keep the town and local towns involved in the community. Cranford has two public swimming pools, one outdoors and one indoors. A very unusual fact about Cranford is that it owns Cranford West, a camp ground 60 miles away from the town of Hope on Silver Lake. What makes this special is that the camp ground is opened exclusively to Cranford residents.

Cranford has many ways of transportation. It is surrounded by Route 28, County Route 607, and Garden State Parkway. The Cranford Station has services on the Raritan Valley Line, and bus services to New York City and Newark. There are currently 49 single family homes for sale in Cranford in a population of 22,578. Cranford Township is overall a very active and lively community.
